The Sandhills Journey National Scenic Byway Interpretive Center, also known as the Red Barn Travel Center is located just east of Broken Bow on U.S. Highway 2.  From Grand Island to Alliance, this Highway has been designated by Federal and State authorities as the Sandhills Journey National Scenic Byway, 232 miles of beautiful rolling farmland and many, many miles of Sandhills beauty. 

The Red Barn Travel Center is a must stop for visitors and travelers, as it is midway and the largest city between Grand Island and Alliance.  Information, brochures, maps and friendly guidance is provided by our helpful volunteer staff and complimentary bottled ice water and or piping hot coffee is yours for the asking.

Broken Bow- the Little Crown Jewel City on the Prairie is full of interesting shops, stores, a museum, an art gallery and top rated medical facilities, if needed.  Overnight accommodations include six motels and the historically registered Arrow Hotel.  With the Cobblestone Inn & Suites you will also find the adjoining Nebraska One Box Convention Center.  This combination has the ability to handle any event, group or convention with supreme efficiency.
